Australian Moodle hosting, development & consulting

Moodle hosting and development, run by people who only do Moodle

We host, build and maintain Moodle for Australian training providers, schools and enterprise learning teams. Your site runs on AWS in Sydney or Melbourne - your choice - and the people who tune the servers are the same people who write the plugins.

  • Managed Moodle hosting on AWS, in Australian regions you pick
  • Custom plugin and theme development to Moodle coding standards
  • Upgrades rehearsed on staging, with a tested rollback path
  • Integration work with the systems you already run
  • Moodle only No web division, no other platforms. It is the whole business.
  • Australian regions AWS Sydney or Melbourne, named in writing. Nothing offshore.
  • 1-hour critical response Site down or assessment blocked, any hour, any day.
  • Your code, no lock-in Plugins we build are yours, in your repository.
What we do

Four things, done properly

Moodle is the whole business. That narrowness is the point - it is why we can tell you what is wrong with your site in the first conversation instead of the third.

Integration

SSO against Entra ID or Okta, LTI links to external content, and connections to the student management system you already run. We build the bridge, not the SMS.

Integration scope

Support & upgrades

Version upgrades rehearsed on a staging clone, third-party plugin compatibility checked, production changes scheduled outside teaching hours.

Response targets
Australian infrastructure

Sydney or Melbourne - you pick the region

Every client chooses an AWS region at onboarding. Both are Australian, both keep course content, learner records and assessment evidence onshore. The choice usually comes down to where your learners are and whether your own policies name a state.

AWS Sydney - ap-southeast-2

The default for most clients. The oldest and largest Australian region, with the widest service coverage and the lowest latency for learners across the eastern seaboard.

AWS Melbourne - ap-southeast-4

Choose this when your learners are concentrated in Victoria, or when an internal policy or a tender response specifically asks where the data sits. Same architecture, same backups.

AWS publishes the full region and availability-zone list if you want to verify what is where. We are happy to name the region and availability zones your instance runs in.

How an engagement runs

From first call to a Moodle you stop worrying about

  1. Review

We look at your current site - version, plugins, server, what breaks and when. You get the findings written down whether or not you hire us.

  2. Scope

A written scope with the work, the sequence and the risks. No line item you cannot explain to your finance team.

  3. Build or migrate

Staging first, always. Migrations are rehearsed end to end, with the cutover window agreed around your assessment calendar.

  4. Run

Monitoring, patching, backups with restore tests, and upgrade planning ahead of each Moodle release rather than after it.

Where we work

Moodle hosting by city

Same infrastructure, different local realities - timezones, state regulators and the industries that dominate each market.

Scope, stated plainly

What we do not do

Most of the disappointment in this industry comes from a provider agreeing to something outside their competence. So here is the boundary, before you call.

Outside our scope

  • We do not sell a student management system. If you run one, we integrate Moodle with it. If you do not have one, we will tell you honestly that Moodle is not a substitute.
  • We do not do compliance reporting or regulatory submissions on your behalf. That work belongs with your compliance team and your SMS vendor.
  • We are not a Moodle Partner. We are independent. That means no partner margin, and also no partner badge - decide for yourself which matters more.
  • We do not run a first-line ticket desk. Our 24/7 cover is for platform incidents, answered by people who know your environment. Routine course questions are business hours.
  • We do not write your course content. We build the platform it runs on.

What is left is the part we are good at: making Moodle fast, stable, upgraded, extended where it needs extending, and connected to whatever else you run. If you want the detail, start with what our hosting includes or how support actually works.

Questions

Moodle hosting and development - common questions

Where will our Moodle data be hosted?

AWS Sydney or AWS Melbourne - you choose the region at onboarding. Course content, learner records, assessment evidence and backups all stay onshore, and we confirm the region and availability zones in writing.

Do you provide a student management system?

No. We are not an SMS vendor. If you run aXcelerate, VETtrak, Wisenet or similar, we integrate Moodle with it so enrolments flow in and completion outcomes flow back. Moodle is not a substitute for an SMS and we will not suggest otherwise.

Do you do compliance reporting?

No. We do not prepare or lodge regulatory reporting. We make sure Moodle holds clean, exportable delivery and assessment data so your compliance team or SMS vendor can do that work properly.

Are you a Moodle Partner?

No, we are independent. That means no partner margin and direct access to the people doing the work, but also no partner badge. If your procurement rules require a Moodle Partner, we will tell you up front rather than waste your time.

What are your support hours?

24/7 for critical incidents - one hour first response, any hour, any day, including public holidays. Everything else runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm AEST/AEDT with published targets by severity. We define what critical means rather than leaving it vague.

How much does managed Moodle hosting cost?

We quote rather than publish a price list, because the honest number depends on peak concurrency, data volume and support level. What we do publish is the complete scope of what is included and what costs extra, so you can compare quotes on equal terms.
